Hello Philip Pelusi Employees,
As you have most likely heard, we are still waiting for direction from the Governor, on when the counties in which our salons are located may possibly reopen salons. We were told on Friday that Salon Services will not be able to begin until their county goes into the green reopening category. Of course this could change as there have been many changes in the direction of information released over the last few weeks. Below is some updates to keep you in the loop.
We are still waiting for definitive reopening guidelines for the PA Governor and Dept. of Health, but here is what we are preparing for based on other states requirements.
- We know we will need to be following CDC Guidelines at the very least for Sanitation. (See link below to view their sanitation practices)
- Staff and Guests will be required to wear face mask whenever in the salon environment.
- We may have to limit the number of staff members in the salon at any given time, based on guidelines yet to be set forth.
- We will most likely have to book time between each guests for designers to do required sanitation practices and at the end of the shift.
Here is what we have done to prepare:
- Sanitation and Disinfection procedures will be front and center. We need to be on top of our game and visually show the Guests the steps we are working to ensure their safety. A huge percentage of our employees went online to get Barbicide Certified in order to show Guests that we are focusing on their safety.
- We have sourced large quantities of gloves in case we need to wear gloves at all times.
- We have sourced masks, and scanning temperature gauges (As they will probably be required for staff and a Guests)
- We are sourcing hand sanitizer, bleach, and other cleaning supplies that we know will be needed.
- We have sourced additional spray bottles for use with sanitizing agents.
- We have been looking at creative and flexible scheduling in order to accommodate our Guests while meeting the guidelines set forth by Governing and Medical Communities.
Here are some suggestions to think about:
- You may find out that you do not want to wear paper masks for extended periods of time. You might want to consider searching out one of the many types of washable/reusable masks that can be purchased at Amazon, EBay, Etsy, etc. They are much more comfortable for long-term use.
- I would make sure you have additional sets of brushes since they will need time to dry after cleaning/disinfection between every Guests. (We have ordered an additional supply of the 4 round brushes and the Vent Brushes that we had for sale through the company for Designers to purchase if they desire) You can also order these types of tools on www.CosmoProf.com and they will ship to you.
- You will most likely want to have an additional supply of combs and clips. My recommendation would be to place a comb and several clips in several ziplock bags so that you can pull out a new bag for use with each Guest. This will send a strong message of our focus on safety and sanitation. It has been required guidelines in several other states.
We will update you as soon as we get any additional information.
Please stay safe, and hopefully we will all be working together soon!
John
