Blorange

Posted on Posted in Trend Alerts

Various hues of wild hair color have been one of the popular trends over the last several seasons.  And Spring 2017 is no different.  This season, the hottest trend is color is where orange sherbet meets blood orange; thus, the interesting hair color trend name…Blorange!  Lady Gaga put this color trend on the style map at the 2017 Grammy Awards.  This strawberry orange hybrid is soft and feminine yet looks edgy all at the same time.  This now popular rose gold variation, can be worn in any depth from light to medium to even a lighter brunette.  The important aspect of the trend is achieving the unique blorange tone.

To get this look, first schedule a consultation with your Philip Pelusi Skill Certified colorist.  A personalized color formula and technique will create this unique look and Philip’s exclusive Tela Beauty Organics by Philip Pelusi Color Lock will be blended right into your color formula!  Available exclusively at Philip Pelusi Salons; a take home version can be purchased to help maintain the effects.  This revolutionary product contains specialized big science micro-emulsions that help prevent color fadage up to 80% in between touch ups.  Also, be sure to help preserve your color investment at home with a special prescription of stylist recommended Philip Pelusi products.

The Blorange tone is tricky to keep intact so we recommend using a super color protecting shampoo and condition containing color sealing Willow Bark and antioxidants Matricaria, Asafetida, Blackberry and Sage that help preserve color.  Try P2 by Philip Pelusi Fade de Phy Shampoo and Fade de Phy Conditioner.  Plus, alternating with a no-suds cleansing conditioner can help keep color from fading.  Try P2 Clenz Crème.  It’s cutting edge formula, containing hydrating Organic Baobab Oil, doesn’t lather, adds color protecting ingredients and helps create a lustrous shine.

Add an easy-to-use, in-shower hair strengthener after every shampoo containing natural plant proteins to help lock in the color molecules deep inside the cortex.  Try P2 DailyHaiRx Xtreme Hair Repair.  It’s Gluten Free Corn, Soy and Wheat Proteins help resurface broken keratin sites helping to seal in color molecules within the hair.  Often called by stylists a “3 Minute Miracle”, P2 Xtreme works quickly helping to create glossy shine and stronger hair too.

And to help Blorange hair color maintain its’ spark in between salons visits, use a color conditioner that adds a boost of color plus lots of shine.  Try P2 Color Boost Conditioner in the shade Mandarin Citrus custom blended with other P2 Color Boosts such as Gold Magnolia or Cherrymint Bark. This special blend can be created by your Philip Pelusi stylist during your color service at the salon.

Spring Fresh Hair

Posted on Posted in Trend Alerts

The gloominess of the winter months can take a toll on anyone, mentally and physically. Once the sun comes out we are ready for a fresh start, exfoliate our skin and repair any damage to our hair that the dryness may have caused.
The first step to repairing winter hair is to find a good detox shampoo, something that will rinse away product build up that may be left on the scalp without striping color. It is important to detox your scalp every now and then, built up toxins on the surface of the scalp can strangle healthy follicles impeding its growth.
Once you’ve detoxed, your hair will need to hydrate. Just like your skin, hair needs to be hydrated to maintain its soft and healthy shine. A deep hydrating conditioning treatment will restore moisture to parshed hair for scalps for a softer, healthier state that will better hydrate your hair for spring hairstyles. For ultra-restoration use a heat activated leave-in treatment that will act as a strength enhancing repairing groom when activated by heat while blow drying or prior to flat or curling iron work. Adding these three steps into your haircare routine will give your winter hair the reboot it needs for a healthy spring.

Suggested products for a Winter Hair Reboot:
Whisk away product build up and scalp debris that can potentially strangle healthy follicles impeding its growth. We suggest: P2 by Philip Pelusi Detox Shampoo Treatment
Restore parched hair and scalp to a softer, more healthy state. We suggest for medium to thick hair: P2 by Philip Pelusi Deep Hydrating Hair and Scalp Treatment and for finer hair, a hydrating treatment that won’t weigh hair down: P2 by Philip Pelusi Intense Hydrating Treatment
A repairing heat activated leave-in treatment used when styling hair that will strengthen and add shine to any hair texture. We suggest: P2 by Philip Pelusi Smart Styling Treatment RepairHair

Runway Reds 2017

Posted on Posted in Trend Alerts

This Spring wild red hues will take center stage, pushing a traditional color outside of the lines. Making a statement with variations of red color is a bold move to show your fierce side. From warm and cool tones that range from natural to vivid shades there is a shade of red for everyone. Seen on the Gucci runways pairing effortlessly with Alessandro Michele’s unique color palettes, this color is gaining traction for 2017.

When transitioning to a red color keep in mind your skin tone. Warmer and copper tones compliment fairer complexions whereas auburn hues compliment warmer complexions. Consult with your professional colorist before diving into the color. With red being one of the hardest colors to maintain ask your colorist to add in a color locking product that will preserve the color by its ingredients being deposited into the hair strand along with the color molecules.

Once you’ve left the salon you’ll want to find products to use at home that are going to strengthen your hair and seal in color. A protein formulated groom can help to repair damaged hair being applied to wet hair before styling. Combining that with a color enhancing conditioner will give you the protection you need to keep your new red color shiny, healthy and vivid!

Suggested Products: A treatment that contains color preserving ingredients that helps improve color and condition while improving shine and color. We suggest: Tela Beauty Organics Color Lock

A heat activated groom that strengthens hair that can be applied to damp hair prior to blow dry styling or dry hair prior to flat or curling iron work. We suggest: P2 by Philip Pelusi RX RepairHair Smart Styling Treatment

A color enhancing conditioner that that’s available in 8 shades including Mandarin Citrus for warm reds or Cherrymint Bark for cool. We suggest: P2 by Philip Pelusi Color Boost Color Enhancing Conditioner
