A Philip Pelusi “Did You Know?” ~ Simplicity at Its Finest

Posted on Posted in BuZZworthy

Philip Pelusi shares… “You may recognize this model from other past post and videos we’ve created.  This look represents one of over 10 different design looks from this one haircut!  The essence of this haircut is the “invisible” layering system, with no space between the layers.  This creates movement with unlimited styling potential while also preserving the texture of the hair which is baby fine.  Cutting to the fabric (texture) of the hair and understanding the natural fall lines is truly the essence of the Volumetric Pelusi Method of Haircutting and Design.  This amazing hair color and color placement really elevates the haircut and design.  Simplicity at its finest!”

This edgy take on a classic deep wave gothic hair design pairs perfectly with thick, jet black, cat eye liner and this incredible embroidered shimmery gold gown designed by NYC renowned couture clothing designer Kati Stern.  She tapped Philip Pelusi for the hair design who enlisted Creative Directors Jeffrey R & Lisa K to design and create this look for her Mercedes Benz NYC Fashion Week Runway show.  One might say goth meets Cleopatra with you mix all 3 stunning components together, the hair, the makeup and the dress!  A real showstopper!

A Philip Pelusi Did You Know? ~ Timeless Bubble Pony

Posted on Posted in BuZZworthy

“I was asked by Modern Salon do a collection of unique dressy ponytails.  This was one of the looks along with others.  This one was selected by the editors to be featured on the front on the cover of Modern Salon Magazine in 1993.  I incorporated hair wefts into the natural ponytail to create an abundance of hair to achieve this bubble design”, shares Philip Pelusi

A Philip Pelusi “Did You Know?” ~ Androgynous Design

Posted on Posted in BuZZworthy

“This androgynous design was inspired by the architectural principles of a commentary movement in design from the late 50’S to early 60’s and the MOD movement in fashion design by Mary Quant in London.  Men had just started to let their hair grow out, and women began to cut their hair shorter.  The was the beginning of the theme wash and wear hair.  Roller sets, teasing, and stiff hair sprays all fell by the wayside with this movement.  It was a great time of creativity and where the haircut was the design and working with the hair’s natural texture.”, shares Phillip Pelusi.

This landmark time in hair design also brought to the forefront of the international hair world groundbreaking artistic leaders and young hair designers Vidal Sassoon and Philip Pelusi and select others.
