Our incredible Designer Joe at Philip Pelusi Southland styled Star Heather Graham over the weekend for an exciting event here in Pittsburgh! Actress Heather Graham is best known for movies Boogie Nights, Austin Powers and The Hangover. Get the exciting scoop from Joe in his interview below! Plus all the amazing photos!! Congratulations Joe!
Q – What was the event you styled Heather Graham for and how did that influence the style you chose?
A – “I was fortunate enough to style Heather for three days (at the Steel-City Comic Con in Monroeville)! So we changed her look with hair and makeup all three days, nothing duplicated or repeated.”
Q – What was your inspiration for the look you created?
A – “I was inspired by her clothing and adding little nods to her past movies for a fun inclusion that fans could pick up on. The first look was a bronze smoky eye with bouncy curls to give a soft glamour look, second day was a peach belini inspiration for makeup and a fun lived in beachy wave, the third day we did a berry sangria makeup look with a beautiful blowout with a 70s twist.”
Q – What products did you use to create the look?
A – “When we blow dried I used P2 by Philip Pelusi Soft Wax mixed with Tela Beauty Organics by Philip Pelusi Cashmere, P2 BrilliantHair for shine, P2 Fluid to set the curls, and P2 Rivet to hold it in all day. Touching up we used P2 RefresHair and P2 Polish.”
Q – What did you enjoy most about the experience?
A – “It was a blast collaborating with her and creating such fun beautiful looks. She was so sweet and kind and just made it a wonderful experience!”
Q – With this being such a landmark career experience, how do you plan on sharing this exciting experience with your own Guests?
A – “Guests are so excited to hear who I got to work on that they can’t wait for me to tell them. We talk about what the occasion was and always show pictures. My excitement gets them excited!”
Q – Based on this experience, what words of wisdom would you like to pass on to inspire New Talent?
A – “Work hard, never stop learning, collaborating only heightens your creativity and be your most professional fun self. Criticism is a part of it too and learning to use it in a positive way will open any door you want! Just make sure you’re not the one locking it LOL.”
