Winter weather means its Hyaluronic Acid season!  The perfect time to add this revolutionary moisture binding powerhouse to your haircare routine.

This powerful moisture binder is found in all of nature, in plant life, in our own bodies and even in a chicken’s comb!  Of course at Philip Pelusi, we only use plant derived sources to obtain the Hyaluronic Acid we use, and absolutely do not use any animals as a course for any of our ingredients.

Hyaluronic Acid is an incredible lubricant to our knees, elbows, eyes and skin.  When we are born, our bodies are at their highest production level of Hyaluronic Acid that’s why a baby’s skin is so plump and smooth.  As we age, our body’s ability to produce Hyaluronic Acid naturally declines and that’s why aging skin is generally much drier than younger skin.

Hyaluronic Acid, which can hold up to 1,000 times its molecular weight in water, naturally draws and bind moisture to whatever surface it is on, thus the moist rose petals and soft and flexibly leaves.  But if you are worried about the weight on the hair, don’t be!  The amount of Hyaluronic Acid put into any product makes a big difference and also the composition of the rest of the product as well.

Tela Magic Transformative Ingredient ~ Hexapeptide-11

Philip added a lot of big tech to Tela Magic!  This is where science meets nature, enabling us to significantly improve the internal structure of the hair and do what we believe also meets today’s marketplace needs by combining technology into a product with over-the-top organic cache.

We know as we age, hair loss occurs due to the reduction of the anagen or active growing cycle phase of hair growth in the internal hair bulb.  Hexapeptide-11, a bio fermented peptide, helps improve collagen production in the hair bulb.

The year was 1989 when Philip Pelusi began his decades long iconic & chic billboard campaigns.  They were known around the city of Pittsburgh as a “must see” whenever a new one debuted and still do today!

They celebrate the incredibly diverse range of services his salons & talented Design Team offer for all hair type, texture & color.  The coolest thing?  These were all local Pittsburgh models and Philip Pelusi Guests who starred as models and all the photography, hair and makeup where done by Philip Pelusi and his Design Teams over the years!  Take a look at just a few of these iconic billboards from the decades!

Trend Alert ~ Rich Espresso Hair Color

The new sought after hair color is Rich Espresso.  This trend ranges from a warm deep chocolate hue to an almost blue-black looking hair color.  And it’s versatile, looking great on warm and cool tones skin tones and eye colors.  Check out this super chic makeover of model Kaia Gerber from a caramel cappuccino lighter brunette to today’s rich espresso color.  Simply stunning!

But keeping this intense dark chocolate hue can present a problem if not cared for with the proper haircare products.  So, for at-home maintenance use the super color protecting shampoo and conditioner; P2 by Philip Pelusi Fade de Phy Shampoo and Fade de Phy Conditioner.  This duo’s color sealing Willow Bark helps protect from color fadage in between touch ups.

For additional color protection, we also highly recommend applying the in-shower hair strengthener P2 DailyHaiRx Xtreme Hair Repair after every shampoo.  Color molecules can easily escape whenever hair is exposed to water and heat styling.  P2 Xtreme contains a natural plant protein micro-emulsion to help lock in the color molecules deep inside the hair strand as well as help repair damage.

And to help maintain this midnight hue, we recommend our P2 Color Boost Conditioner in Chocolate Wildberry, Philip’s deposit-only color conditioner.  For the deepest deposit and intensity of pigment, apply to freshly shampooed hair, just after a few mists of P2 DailyHaiRx Xtreme Hair Repair, and then top it off with the P2 Fade de Phy Conditioner.

Don a plastic cap, leave on while showering then rinse thoroughly.  You can also squeeze a small amount of the P2 Chocolate Wildberry into your styling groom and blow-dry it into the hair as well for extra intensity.  But either way, be sure to cleanse your hands immediately following application to prevent hands from retaining the pigment as well.
